Normal spring mattress or Pocketed spring Mattress?

A lot have been explained about mattress using traditional spring coils in the article "Which mattress is good for me". In this article we are going to talk more about mattress which uses pocketed coils as the main material.

One of the key benefit of pocketed spring mattress is independent support or minimal partner disturbance. Genuine pocketed spring mattress uses barrel-shape pocketed coils which are wrapped individually with non-woven bag and glued together in the center with special glue. Movement of any object/person on top of the structure will only affect the coils which are directy in contact with them.Minimal partner disturbance claimed by supplier is only valid if the mattress does not use thick and hard padding layers and insulators as materials on top of it.

Moreover, no helical wires are used in a pocket spring mattress to secure the position of coils. There are held together only by the strength of the glue between coils. Normally, a layer of fabric or non-woven is used on top and bottom. In summary, compared to standard coil structure, the structure of pocke spring mattress tend to has lesser strength in general.
